Alytiškis Tajus Babaičenko Lietuvai ir Alytui padovanojo sidabro medalį!
Alytaus sporto ir rekreacijos centro dziudo imtynininkai, vadovaujami trenerio Dainiaus Cimbolo, ką tik grįžę iš Italijoje vykusių Europos jaunių taurės varžybų, išvyko į Slovakiją, Šamorino miestą, kur vyko dar vienas Europos taurės čempionatas.
Šiose varžybose dalyvavo 33 stipriausi Lietuvos sportininkai. Vienintelį medalį Lietuvai ir savo miestui iškovojo alytiškis Tajus Babaičenko (svorio kategorija iki 81 kg). Jis pirmą kovą greitai laimėjo prieš Sakartvelo atstovą, antrajame etape įveikė Izraelio sportininką, trečiajame – dar vieną Izraelio dziudistą. Ketvirtą kovą laimėjo prieš Čekijos atstovą, tačiau finale nusileido stipriam Sakartvelo sportininkui, kuris jau turi šešis Europos taurės medalius. Tajus Babaičenko šiame turnyre iškovojo sidabro medalį. Dar trys Lietuvos atstovai užėmė garbingas penktąsias vietas.
ASRC sportininkai po varžybų liko treniruočių stovykloje Slovakijoje, kur toliau gilina savo žinias ir semiasi patirties iš kitų dziudo meistrų ir trenerių.
