Alytiškis Tajus Babaičenko antrą kartą šiais metais Europos taurių varžybose iškovojo aukso medalį!
Kovo 15–17 d. Poreče (Kroatija) surengtame Europos jaunių dziudo taurės etape dalyvavo daugiau nei 800 jaunų šio sporto atstovų, tarp kurių buvo ir du Alytaus sporto ir rekreacijos centro dziudo imtynininkai – Tajus Babaičenko ir Adris Jakubauskas, treniruojami Dainiaus Cimbolo.
Ambicingas ir talentingas T. Babaičenko svorio kategorijoje iki 81 kg, kurioje varžėsi 64 kovotojai, laimėjo visas šešias kovas ir pasidabino aukso medaliu. Ketvirtfinalyje T. Babaičenko įveikė kartvelą Luką Buziašvilį, pusfinalyje pranoko slovėną Aleksą Krivecą, o finale įrodė pranašumą prieš Sabą Samsianį iš Sakartvelo. Tai jau antrasis T. Babaičenko laimėtas Europos jaunių taurės etapas šiais metais.
Kitas Alytaus sportininkas Adris Jakubauskas, svorio kategorijoje iki 55 kg, įveikęs keturis priešininkus, tačiau nusileidęs tik pusfinalyje šveicarui, dėl bronzos medalio pralaimėjo kovą ukrainiečiui ir užėmė aukštą penktąją vietą.
