Alytiškiai kartu su Lietuvos rankinio rinktine Baltijos jūros taurės turnyre iškovojo bronzos medalius!
Sausio 10–12 d. Lietuvos sporto centro komplekse Druskininkuose vyko Baltijos jūros rankinio taurės turnyras, kuriame lietuviai užėmė trečiąją vietą ir pasipuošė bronzos medaliais.
Turnyras buvo organizuojamas jau trečią kartą, o jame dalyvavo keturios vyrų rankinio rinktinės: Lietuvos, Latvijos, Estijos ir Suomijos. Džiugu, kad Lietuvos rinktinės sudėtyje žaidė ir Alytaus „Varsa-Stronglasas“ komandos nariai Andrius Montvilas bei Gabrielius Civinskas, o trenerių štabe dirbo komandos vyr. treneris Egidijus Petkevičius.
Lietuvos vyrų rankinio rinktinė pirmosiose rungtynėse 25:24 nugalėjo Latviją, tačiau antrose rungtynėse 32:38 nusileido Estijai. Surinkę du taškus, lietuviai turnyre užėmė trečią vietą. Turnyro nugalėtojais antrą kartą tapo Suomijos rinktinė. Antroji vieta atiteko Estijai, o ketvirtoji – Latvijai.
